Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 20) — A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck the province of Catanduanes in Bicol Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The quake, caused by a shifting of the earth's surface, had a depth of 3 kilometers in the town of Pandan, Catanduanes. It jolted the area ‪at 4:08 a.m.‬

Intensity II was felt in Iriga City; Pili, Camarines Sur, and in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte.

Meanwhile, Intensity I hit Mauban, Quezon.

Phivolcs advised of possible aftershocks, but there are no expected damages.
